We’re looking for an experienced Senior Back End Developer to join our Development Team within the Bluedrop family.

Bluedrop’s software engineers are a critical part of our team, and lead the charge in developing advanced solutions that help transform how our current and future clients connect millions of employers, workers, and related stakeholders within a seamless training ecosystem. Our solutions are not simple- they are cool, complex, and help vastly improve training development and delivery for all types of clients, industries, and use cases.

As a Senior Back End Developer you will be working with our software development team to plan, design, code and test features for our Integrated Skills Management system.  Sound good so far? Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Enjoy being part of a team.
  • Comfortable with modern development practices such as version control (Git preferred) and CI/CD (continuous integration and deployment).
  • Good working knowledge of data structures.
  • Fluent in database design.
  • Experience designing and implementing well-defined APIs in a microservices-based architecture.
  • Experience with the following are required:
    • SQL and RDBMSes (Postgres preferred)
    • JavaScript or TypeScript
    • Node.js
  • Experience with a modern web server framework (Feathers or Express) would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with data streaming or data consistency in a distributed architecture would be considered an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Help guide back-end implementation, adhering to industry best-practices.
  • Help design application databases and service-level APIs to support interactive and highly available web applications.
  • Ensure code quality through best practices, including unit testing and code review.
  • Integrate with various third-party applications and data sources, as required.
  • Provide input and estimates for planning.
  • Mentor and provide support for team members.
